Installation at Power Industries
Adjusting a hood correctly takes experience: it has to line up perfectly with the wings and bumper, and close smoothly and safely. That's why we recommend having it installed by a specialised workshop. We're happy to fit the hood in our own workshop, and can also finish it in your car's colour. Installing it yourself?
Support the old hood during removal: it can fall when you loosen the bolts on the hinges. Preferably work with two people.
Disconnect all cables and lines attached to the hood (depending on the version, for example the washer jets).
Remove the latch, hooks and other parts from the old hood and fit them to the new one.
Mount the new hood on the original hinges, using the bolts you just removed.
Note: align the hood exactly like the old one, so it doesn't sit crooked and the panel gaps are even all around.
After tightening, close the hood carefully and first check that it doesn't touch the bodywork anywhere.
